Do not assert in work thread during tests If there is an issue with the shader, i.e. validation failing, the former ASSERT_EQs will kill the thread that is running the lambda. Since the main thread is waiting for a state change, if this assert kills the thread, the test will hang forever. This change allows the test to complete and fail correctly in the case that the test condition fails. Dawn is an open-source and cross-platform implementation of the work-in-progress WebGPU standard. More precisely it implements webgpu.h
that is a one-to-one mapping with the WebGPU IDL. Dawn is meant to be integrated as part of a larger system and is the underlying implementation of WebGPU in Chromium.
