Allow objects to become error objects after initialization. Objects that may do internal initialization or validation in asynchronous tasks can now become error objects instead of needing to be recreated. Add another bit to the RefCounted payload to represent initialization state. Checking the error state is only valid if the object has marked itself as initialized. The values of error and initialization enums allow atomic operations on the payload data to make the allowed transitions. No objects currently mark themselves as having delayed initialization. Dawn is an open-source and cross-platform implementation of the WebGPU standard. More precisely it implements webgpu.h that is a one-to-one mapping with the WebGPU IDL. Dawn is meant to be integrated as part of a larger system and is the underlying implementation of WebGPU in Chromium.
